This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2020 with possible extension

Pearsall Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Upper Year 5-6 Teacher to join their successful team.

The successful applicant will be able to communicate positively with students and parents. Demonstrated knowledge of the Year 5- 6 curriculum through practice will be considered an imperative. They will have initiative and drive for new projects to improve student outcomes and a deep knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum Outline The successful applicant will have an ability to work alone and in a team on several projects.

Pearsall PS has a culture that respects the professionalism of all staff and aims to support all staff members in their pursuit of excellence for all students. It has collaborative staff who work to support one another and staff that are dedicated and highly professional.

Located in the suburb of Pearsall, in the Northern suburbs of Perth, the school is an Independent Public School catering for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. It has well-resourced classrooms equipped with the latest in technology to facilitate student learning and also boasts extensive play areas, hard courts for tennis, basketball and netball, and cricket nets as well as fitness play equipment around the school.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
