Southern River College (College) is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher – Science to join their team.
The successful applicant will be an expert and passionate teacher of Science. They will be enthusiastic adopters of a college wide instructional framework based on explicit teaching and instructional skills, strategies and tactics. The successful applicant will be committed to personal and professional growth and will embrace opportunities for collaboration within the college community.
Suitable applicants will be student and relationship focused, enthusiastic, innovative and motivated with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. As part of a dedicated team you will be required to develop, review and deliver Science curriculum. You will engage in ongoing self-reflection and assess the effectiveness of practice to create environment conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs. A desirable part of the position (approx. 0.2 - 0.4 FTE) will be supporting teacher development, classroom practices and pedagogy.
Applicants would need to have a sound understanding of the developmental needs of students at all phases of the Western Australian Curriculum and will be skilled in differentiating the curriculum to meet the academic needs of all students

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
