Instrumental Music School Services is seeking to establish a pool of Music Teachers – Percussion/Drum Kit, for appointments to permanent and fixed term, part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
This is a specialised role. Skill in teaching both percussion and drum kit is essential.
Suitable applicants will be willing to embrace the opportunity to work within a variety of school environments. You will be required to teach in small groups, a range of students from Year 5 to Year 12 in a variety of schools within the metropolitan area. Suitable applicants should be able to work independently and as a member of a team, demonstrate energy and passion for the subject and to be highly skilled at performance on percussion instruments.
There is a particularly close collegial relationship amongst staff that allows for significant professional growth as a teacher and musician. The ability to teach other instruments will also be highly regarded.

Instrumental Music School Services delivers instrumental music teaching to public schools throughout the state of WA. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
