Waikiki Primary School (PS) is seeking a motivated and hardworking Primary Music teacher to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will be able to provide innovative teaching and learning programs that nurture and inspire students. They will work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team and have the opportunity to make a contribution to our school community. The successful applicant will have outstanding interpersonal skills with a natural ability to communicate and relate to all members of the Waikiki School Community. They will be highly organised and have good communication skills in order to lead a number of whole school events and activities. These will include: leading a well-rehearsed choir; organising and leading school participation in music festivals and concerts; leading whole school songs for assemblies and ceremonies and coordinating musical instruments and equipment accordingly.
Applicants will also need to have a sound understanding of the developmental needs of students at all phases of the Western Australian Curriculum and will be skilled in differentiating the curriculum to meet the academic needs of all students.
Waikiki (PS) is a coastal community in the City of Rockingham. The school takes pride in and actively promotes its motto of Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. It became an Independent Public School in 2017 and it provides a vibrant learning environment for 340 students, enjoying strong support from the school community.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.
