Comet Bay College is seeking to appoint one suitably qualified passionate and committed Design and Technology Teacher to a full time position beginning Term 1, 2020. The successful applicant will preferably have experience in teaching a range of Design Technologies contexts, and preferably also have experience in teaching Digital Technologies. As a college we strive to ensure our students seek excellence and thus experience in teaching WA Curriculum and Senior School Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) Technologies courses is vital in helping our students achieve outstanding results. Experience teaching the Senior School Course: Materials Design and Technology, Metals is desirable.
The successful applicant will also be given the opportunity to work across Years 7 – 12 and bring their expertise to the Learning Area, applying their knowledge of the Design and Technology Courses, with the potential to work in the Colleges Gifted and Talented and Academic Extension Program.

The applicant will reflect and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practice using a variety of methods available within the College, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve to their highest potential. With effective interpersonal skills, the applicant will work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.

Comet Bay College is a modern, innovative Independent Public School that caters for Year 7-12 students and is located one kilometre from the coast in the vibrant community of Secret Harbour. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
