John Forrest Secondary College (SC) are seeking to establish a pool of English Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
As a suitable applicant you will have a focus on high performance and high care for all students. You will have a thorough knowledge of the English curriculum in Years 7 - 12 and be able to engage students in their learning. The ability to teach ATAR courses and deliver the Seven Steps writing program, while not essential, would be beneficial. You will promote active learning and provide activities that enable students at all levels to achieve their potential. You will have a focus on forming positive working relationships with students and you will engage with parents to assist student learning.
You will demonstrate the strong interpersonal skills required to work in a large collaborative and supportive team environment. Suitable applicants will be joining a progressive and enthusiastic team of teachers who are engaged in implementing a whole-school approach to education. You will have the capacity to engage in curriculum development and to meet the needs of students using evidence-based practice. A sound knowledge of how data analysis can inform teaching practices is necessary.
