WA College of Agriculture – Narrogin is looking for a dedicated and experienced Technical Officer - Agricultural Instruction - Butcher/Slaughter.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the competency training of secondary students in the butchering industry and the slaughter requirements of the enterprise. The successful applicant will have the ability to work as part of a team and with secondary students in years 10 to 12.
The successful applicant will oversee the day to day management of the school’s meat processing section processing pigs, sheep and cattle and coordinate with the kitchen for their menu requirements. Small groups of students are rostered to the meat processing section and they are instructed by the Technical Officer in all aspects of meat production from slaughter to value adding.
The successful applicant would also be involved in a range of other farm activities dependent on skill set. The salary for this position starts at level 1.5 but applicants with qualifications will commence at a higher level.
The WA College of Agriculture - Narrogin is the oldest agricultural college in Western Australia. The College consistently delivers quality education and training to young men and women who wish to undertake their senior secondary schooling in an agricultural or trade context. Located 10kms west of the regional town of Narrogin, the College is a day and boarding school that offers specialist secondary education for Year 10 - 12 students in a supportive rural community.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
Please note: The salary level for this position will be determined after the successful applicant is assessed as addressing all eligibility and selection criteria indicated in the relevant attached JDF in the context of the outcomes and selection criteria described.
Applicants may be able to commence at a L2.1 or L3.1 if suitably qualified or with requisite experience.
Level 2, $61,172 - $66,256 per annum (PSGO CSA GA 2017)
Level 3, $69,896 - $75,717 per annum (PSGO CSA GA 2017)
