This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2020 with possible extension and/or permanency
Atwell Primary School (PS) is an enthusiastic and dedicated Music Teacher to join their school.
The successful applicant should be motivated, practical, hard-working, innovative and possess outstanding interpersonal skills. They will need to pursue excellence in classroom teaching; and provide encouragement and support to their colleagues. They will foster and encourage innovation; and make student academic achievement the core of their work. A positive attitude and an appetite for challenge are highly desirable qualities for applicants to possess.
Atwell PS opened in 1998 and received Independent Public School status in 2012. The school is a Level 6 school. The school accommodates 800 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. There are four teaching blocks, two purpose built early childhood buildings, a library, staffroom, undercover area and a multi-purpose hall. The school environment and facilities are well maintained to ensure they cater for the needs of our students through ample play areas and well maintained grounds.
The staff at Atwell PS are passionate, enthusiastic and strive to ensure our school is committed to ensuring that every child is given the chance to become a successful life-long learner. The teachers and support staff have a wide range of experience and are dedicated to providing the best possible learning opportunities. The School Board plays an active role in establishing and maintaining clear directions for the school and works in partnership with the wider community. The school is currently implementing the Western Australian Curriculum.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
