Position Profile: This is an important leadership role within the Workforce and Organisational Development Business Unit. In addition to contributing to the strategic direction and management of HSS, the position also:
- is accountable for leading and managing the Payroll Services function which provides high quality payroll and related services to over 50,000 employees of the WA health system;
- transforming the delivery of payroll services towards a modern, reliable and timely service provider;
- ensures quality and compliance; and
- leads staff in an environment focussed on the achievement of business unit objectives, in line with HSS’s values.
Area Profile: Health Support Services (HSS) provides value for money corporate support services to WA Health through skilled and motivated people. This includes delivering business focused financial, ICT, supply and workforce services within an environment of standardised systems and processes. Partnering with client agencies and other stakeholders, HSS operates within a customer focussed service culture designed to complement client agency corporate service operations. HSS provides a service within a framework of established values and behaviours based on achieving the corporate service standards and expectations of our customers. Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector.
Conditions: The WA health system engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. Referees may also be asked to comment on an applicant’s integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
