Katanning Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint an inspiring and motivated individual to engage with students in this exciting new role as Project Based Learning Teacher.
The suitable applicants will reflect and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practice, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve to their potential. You will deliver a curriculum which is not only engaging but is relevant and meaningful to students, and you will inspire students to think creatively to find innovative solutions to problems. As a Teacher, you will be committed to the general capabilities of each student in the planning and delivery of productive learning environments.
In this role, you will be required to engage with all students, irrespective of their academic standing, be highly collaborative in working with colleagues and highly committed to your own ongoing professional growth and development. In addition, the successful applicants will demonstrate real care and consideration for students with a demonstrated ability to build positive relationships.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
