Senior Inspector

The position
As a Senior Inspector, you will be working with a dedicated team of Inspectors to ensure the ongoing safety of people, property and the environment from the most significant hazards in Western Australia. The team performs this through the administration of the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1982, the Petroleum Pipeline Act 1969, the Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Resources Act 1967 and all associated safety regulations.
You will provide specialised assessment and regulatory oversight of safety and risk management relating to both onshore and offshore petroleum operations in the state. Our ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the Safety Case regime and the technical capability to review and assess safety critical controls. You will also have previous experience in conducting process safety audits in a technically complex industry.
Your ability to easily communicate with various stakeholders and contribute to team goals will be key in successfully undertaking this role.
This position is located in East Perth.
What do you require to successfully undertake the role?
- Bachelor of Engineering or Science in a petroleum, chemical, process or electrical discipline or other approved Bachelor degree relevant to the operations of highly complex safety critical industry sectors.
- Significant experience in petrochemical, oil and gas and/or industrial chemical technologies in a technical or regulatory position.
- Experience in process safety and/or control systems as well as technical risk management including inspection or audit of systems for safety compliance.

Please note that completion of a National Police Clearance, Pre-Employment Medical Assessment (including baseline hearing test), psychological assessment and pre-employment Conflict of Interest declaration, will also form part of the selection process. In addition, a ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence is also a requirement.
