Newman Primary School (PS) is seeking an engaging and dedicated Arts Teacher to join their school community.
The successful applicant will have experience in teaching Art to students from Pre-primary to Year 6, must be well organised, motivated and committed to developing positive relationships and have high expectations for all students. The ability to teach a range of Arts including but not limited to visual arts, dance, drama, media arts and music is highly desirable. They will have the ability to work collaboratively in teachers to plan and implement effective teaching and learning and integrate the arts into all areas of the curriculum. The successful applicant will have an exceptional knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum, be practical, hardworking, innovative, and possess outstanding interpersonal skills.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
