Appointment Pool
Mount Pleasant Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten to Year 6 Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
Passionate and highly motivated educators, with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs that meet the needs of our students from Kindergarten to Year 6, are encouraged to apply. Excellent knowledge and/or experience in teaching the Western Australian Curriculum with the demonstrated ability to deliver content in an engaging manner will be highly regarded.
Suitable applicants will have commitment to providing a challenging, innovative and caring learning environment that caters for a range of needs and ensures that all children are achieving their maximum potential. It is desirable for applicants to be proficient in the use of interactive technology in the classroom with the ability able to effectively differentiate classroom practices to cater for all learning styles.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community are an important aspect of this role. You will also be highly motivated and view 'Working Together' in a collaborative environment as integral to achieving whole school targets. Mount Pleasant PS is an Independent Public School situated in a riverside suburb, with Applecross, Ardross, Booragoon and Brentwood as its neighbours. The school serves a catchment area, which houses mainly professional and business families. The school opened in May 1953 and became an Independent Public School at the commencement of 2015. The school has varied in size over recent years. The 2019 school population from Kindergarten to Year 6 stands at 453.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
