Teacher Appointment Pool
East Manjimup Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time teaching vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
We are seeking dedicated, motivated, innovative and enthusiastic educators. Suitable applicants will have excellent pedagogy, highly developed interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively within a team environment to deliver our whole school approaches. Children’s individual differences will be provided for through an inclusive and personalised approach to education, and a commitment to engaging with families and the wider community.
Applicants must have the necessary skills and ability to work with an established team of teachers and be prepared to actively participate in whole school and year level planning, moderation and data analysis. It is desirable that applicants demonstrate a high level of collaborative practice, together with interpersonal skills, to enable effective participation and engagement within the school and community.
Suitable applicants will plan engaging and relevant student learning programs, and monitor and assess student progress and achievement using the Western Australian Curriculum. Applicants will desirably have a proven record of planning for student improvement.
East Manjimup PS provides a family friendly rural setting with the school nestled between farm land and forest. Our wide open spaces, variety of play areas and equipment are enjoyed by all students. The school has implemented an ability focused program that caters for the literacy and numeracy needs of each student. This means that students can work at their ability level rather than at the level of their peers. Programs such as Origo Maths, Words Their Way (Spelling) and Getting Reading Right are all ability based programs embedded within our school's culture. Our school has a focus on providing teaching and learning programs based on the needs of students.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

Applicants currently completing the Department of Education Leap program (formerly known as the Switch program) can apply for vacancies using their current or Leap qualification – even if they have not completed the program at the time of applying. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
