Illawarra Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of hardworking and passionate teachers of Pre-Primary to Year 6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
Suitable applicants will be self-motivated, innovative and prepared to meet challenges. Applicants will be required to participate in whole school planning and curriculum development to raise student performance. Suitable applicants will ideally have a high level of collaborative practice, a strong understanding of cultures given our multicultural diversity. Suitable applicants should also ideally be experienced in explicit teaching practices and show planning and teaching for the full range of student abilities. Recent classroom experience is desirable.
At Illawarra PS we have well defined Literacy and Numeracy Blocks utilising explicit teaching. We use Origo Maths across the school, and use Chrome books and iPads. Illawarra PS has a strong focus on digital technology and STEM. Applicants that have knowledge and/or experience with these programs will be highly regarded.
Illawarra PS is an Independent Public School located in the suburb of Ballajura, approximately 17 kilometres north of the Perth CBD. Illawarra PS is located on well-established grounds with excellent facilities including basketball courts, tennis courts, performing arts stage with lighting and sound, and a variety of play equipment engaging children in social play.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.
