Appointment Pool
Wanneroo Secondary College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated, passionate and experienced Physical Education Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
Suitable applicants will have a thorough knowledge of the Health and Physical Education curriculum for years 7 to 12 and be able to engage students in their learning. This knowledge, combined with pedagogical skills should enable the development of programs to meet the learning needs of students across a range of abilities. You will be prepared to engage in running after school sporting teams including, but not restricted to, the school’s Specialist AFL program and netball teams. It is highly desirable that applicants have a Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment; Vocational Education and Training (VET) experience in Outdoor Recreation and/or Sport and Recreation; First Aid Trainer Certification; an F (Bus) extension on your driver’s licence and a Surf Rescue Certification.

You will utilise innovative initiatives and be able to work effectively within a dynamic team. This involves you reflecting and assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice and cultivating a safe learning environment, underpinned by our core value of respect. You will utilise evidence based teaching practices whilst employing a range of assessment and reporting methods. You will use your knowledge and experience to design and implement new programs as required. With effective interpersonal skills, you will work closely with students, teachers and the community to instil rigour, resilience and pride, allowing students to achieve to their full potential. Suitable applicants will be safety conscious with a sound knowledge of regulations relating to Occupational Health and Safety.
Wanneroo SC is a co-educational secondary school catering for students from years 7 to 12. Opened in 1977, it’s located 24km north of the Perth CBD in a rapidly developing area with new suburbs constantly emerging and the fastest population growth rate in the country. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
