Appointment Pool
Kalamunda Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of English and Humanities and Social Science Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. This pool may be used for appointments to either an English or Humanities teaching position, or to a Year 7 Learning Team position, where you will teach both English and Humanities. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
As a suitable applicant you will have the ability to teach English, and/or, Humanities and Social Science. You will have a passion for your teaching area and the ability to effectively engage students in their learning. You will be highly organised with excellent written and oral communication skills. For positions within either the English or Humanities Learning Area, whilst not essential, the ability to teacher ATAR level is highly desirable. For positions in the Year 7 Learning Team, you will teach both English and Humanities as part of a dynamic Year 7 Learning Team. In addition you will teach a class in either English or Humanities outside of this year group across Years 8 to 12. Applicants who have undertaken the Switch Program in either English or Humanities are also encouraged to apply for this position. For all positions, you will work effectively both independently and as part of team, working collaboratively across the English and/or Humanities learning areas.
The school also has a Learning Centre to support literacy and numeracy development in the school and students with English as an Additional Language. In this role, you will be required to work together with the Learning Centre Coordinator to provide appropriate support to students.
Kalamunda SHS has an enviable reputation developed over 59 years of providing a quality education to all students. Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within English or Humanities and Social Science Areas). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
