Duncraig Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a Program Coordinator - Student Service Manager (7&8).
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative leader who has outstanding interpersonal, organisational and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to lead change management processes. As the successful applicant, you will establish yourself as a key member of the school’s Student Services team and form positive working relationships within the school and wider school community.
As the Student Services Manager (7&8) you will have the capacity to build and maintain a cohesive team comprising of teaching and non-teaching staff whilst managing the pastoral care and behaviour management of all students in Years 7 & 8. Working in collaboration with other Student Services managers, you will oversee and review whole school behaviour, recognition and attendance policies, which includes implementation and communication with staff, students and parents. You will have knowledge of different internal and external stakeholders to help improve student outcomes in behaviour, pastoral care, attendance and academic achievement.
Other specific responsibilities for this role include: overseeing student leadership opportunities, academic reporting processes, line management of SAER coordinator and relevant Year Coordinators, managing the Orientation and Transition programs of Year 6 into Year 7, analyse data that lead to implementation of strategies that contribute towards student well-being.
The Student Services Manager (7&8) works in close collaboration with the Associate Principal (7&8) in creating the overarching vision and future focus in improving outcomes for all students in Year 7 & 8. This team also works closely with other Student Services Managers and Associate Principals, particularly in the Lower School (Yrs. 7-10) space.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
