ABOUT THE ROLE
The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) is a dynamic agency and is committed to supporting Western Australia’s community, economy and environment by managing and regulating the state’s environment and water resources.
The Department is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Officer to join it dynamic and successful team within the Environmental Compliance branch.
The Senior Compliance Officer is primarily responsible for implementing the approved environmental compliance inspection program across all of Western Australia. Part of this program may involve enforcement of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and other associated regulations in accordance with the Departments Compliance and Enforcement Policy.
The Senior Compliance Officer will be required to work together with all Divisions to resolve complex and technical issues. These positions will be also responsible for implementing a compliance program for newly created Legislation, such as Environmental Protection (Plastic Bags) Regulations 2018.
The role will also be involved in the development of the environmental compliance capability.
