Rossmoyne Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a dedicated Teacher - Learning Support to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will have the ability to plan and manage individual student programs, teaching experience and skills to develop behaviour management strategies for students with a range of disabilities. Strong knowledge of the curriculum across all year levels with the ability to modify to support students with learning difficulties is required. An understanding of mental health conditions in children and suitable strategies to support them and their teachers is required. Ability and experience in managing stressful situations and ability to liaise with parents and therapists to meet the educational and care needs of the students is highly regarded. The successful applicant will be able to effectively direct and manage Education Assistants working as support in the classroom and also provide support with transitions and reporting.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to professional learning, understanding of funding models, experience with SEN and a high-level of participation in collaborative team planning are also important qualities as an Learning Support teacher.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
