Appointment Pool
Melville Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool of dynamic Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies commencing in term 1, 2020 and which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
We are specifically seeking teachers with the knowledge, skills and desire to teach one or more of the following Year 11 and/or 12 ATAR courses; Accounting, Modern History and Politics and Law. Applicants will possess an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and be able to teach students of varying ability levels across Year 7 to 12 in a highly engaging manner.
We currently have four (4) vacancies to appoint to consisting of both permanent and fixed term vacancies commencing Term 1, 2020.
Suitable applicants will be passionate, dedicated and highly motivated educators with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Strong knowledge and skills in being able to; (1) lead and embed whole-school (and learning area specific) literacy strategies; (2) integrate innovative and engaging Information, Communication and Technology into classroom learning (ICT) and (3) lead and implement cooperative learning instructional strategies into course programs and classroom teaching, will be considered advantageous.
We are looking for highly committed, adaptable and collaborative individuals who can work effectively with our dedicated HASS team. Suitable applicants will actively participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities and continually reflect on their own teaching practice to enhance student engagement and to sustain a culture of high-quality teaching. You will work in collaboration with the Head of Learning Area and the HASS team to share in the responsibility of leading improvements in pedagogy, curriculum and programming across Years 7 to 12 which support the HASS team to achieve set targets in the School Business Plan.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
