East Kimberley College (EKC) is seeking to appoint a talented and dedicated Teacher – Humanities and Social Sciences.
The successful applicant will be confident in teaching students across Years 7 to 10 with particular focus on providing relevant and engaging courses linking to the Western Australian Humanities and Social Science curriculum. You will demonstrate the professional knowledge, understandings and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant secondary school curriculum.
As a skilled and experienced teacher you will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection. Another key attribute will be the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs.
Our college promotes family involvement and actively encourages parents to participate in school activities. The rugged East Kimberley landscape provides extensive opportunities for educational activities that are water based, involve walking and climbing, or require practical opportunities in agriculture and land management.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
