Do you have the passion for teaching?
We are seeking to establish a pool of talented and dedicated Humanities and Social Science Teachers for appointment. Tha mix of permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise both for the commencement of and during the 2020 school year.
The successful applicants preferably need to have demonstrated experience in successfully teaching ATAR Politics & Law, Economics and/or History. Teachers who have expertise and experience in providing engaging and challenging learning programs in Lower School will also be favourably considered.
Halls Head College are seeking suitably qualified teachers that are student and relationship focused, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in team environments.
Suitable applicants will be confident in teaching students across Years 7 to 12 with particular focus on providing relevant and engaging courses linking to the Western Australian Humanities and Social Science curriculum. You will demonstrate the professional knowledge, understandings and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant secondary school curriculum.
As a skilled and experienced teacher you will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection. Another key attribute will be the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs.
Halls Head College is an Independent Public School, uniquely situated on the 'island' of Halls Head just south of Mandurah. The local intake area of Halls Head College is south, close to the Waroona Shire boundary. The contributory primary schools are Glencoe, Halls Head, Falcon, South Halls Head and Ocean Road. The college provides a secondary education for students who live in the rapidly growing coastal strip, south of Mandurah.
The college is engaged in building more dynamic, engaging and authentic learning opportunities for every student to build currency for life beyond and to reflect our motto 'Learning for Life.' ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
