Conditions
This is a full time, fixed term vacancy, until 1 February 2020, for maternity relief with a possibility of extension. Part time opportunities may be available after February 2020. There will also be a Pool running for a period of 18 months from the initial appointment. Applicants deemed suitable will be placed into a pool where appointments may be considered for similar vacancies for full-time, part-time or fixed term.
Location
This position is located in central Perth on William Street. You will be ideally located near the underground rail link and within easy walking distance of the bustling café, tourist and shopping districts.
Job Description
The Media and Publicity Officer is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation and monitoring of media, social media and publicity activities for exhibitions, public programs, events, museum research projects and publicity campaigns.
This position reports to the Manager, Communications and Media and provides support in delivering planned communication activities of WA Museum, maintaining media contact database and responding to photography, filming and media requests.
You will have well developed relationship building skills with the ability in cultivating collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; as well as excellent verbal and written communication and project management skills. Ideally, you will also have experience working with media.
