Ocean Reef Senior High School is seeking an experienced, innovative and dedicated Biological Sciences teacher to further develop a culture of excellence in teaching and learning in Science.
Ocean Reef runs a comprehensive and highly successful ATAR program that includes Biology and Human Biology in years 11 and 12. The successful applicant will ideally have recent school experience teaching ATAR Biological Sciences in years 11 and 12 along with Science across years 7 to 10.
The successful applicant will have an outstanding knowledge of ATAR Biological Sciences, have high expectations for all students, demonstrate a commitment to excellence and be able to demonstrate success in student achievement. They will support the implementation of the school business plan, be committed to whole-school approaches and initiatives and have a strong evidenced-based teaching approach.
The successful applicant will have effective interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to work collaboratively with the Science team. Effective classroom management, the ability to differentiate curriculum to cater for individual student needs and promote an environment of active and positive learning are also a strong focus for the position.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.
