We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic teachers to inspire, engage and motivate students towards competent and creative literary success and to instil a life-long love of reading and writing
Lakeland Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic English Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
We are looking for committed educators who can demonstrate the skills to inspire students to achieve above expectations. Suitable applicants will possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills to support the school’s mission statement, values and priorities across the school community. You will work effectively within a team and be able to demonstrate the capacity to improve your own performance through reflective practice. Knowledge of the English curriculum area, sound classroom management skills and a willingness to be part of a supportive pastoral care system is highly valued.
Lakeland SHS is located in the suburb of South Lake and caters for approximately 640 students from Years 7 to 12. The school has won many awards in recent years, and in 2012 was a finalist in the Western Australian Education Awards Secondary School of the Year. The school has developed many programs to ensure that students are provided with pathways to success. This includes specialist programs in Touch Football and Music Technology as well as school based enrichment and social support programs.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
