Lake Gwelup Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of high calibre Kindergarten to Year 2 Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.

Lake Gwelup Primary School seeks exemplary teachers who are able to provide an engaging and innovative Early Childhood program. Applicants need to demonstrate excellent knowledge of the National Quality Standards, the Early Years Framework and the Western Australian Curriculum
Suitable applicants will be committed to raising literacy and numeracy achievement through the effective use of whole-school approaches (eg Letters & Sounds, Talk 4 Writing); even if the whole school approaches do not match a preferred approach.
The education programs provided at LGPS are designed to enhance each child’s learning and development. Students are supported in their journey of becoming, confident, capable, creative and resilient learners through a combination of approaches. These include the facilitation of child initiated and teacher initiated learning, inquiry based learning and explicit teaching strategies. All of these are carefully selected and designed to acknowledge and support the unique learning style of each child, maximising their potential in a nurturing and holistic learning environment. The school environment both indoor and outdoor is designed to be inclusive, promoting competence and supporting exploration and play based learning.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
