Wilson Primary School (PS) are seeking to appoint a hardworking and enthusiastic School Based Community Liaison Officer.
The successful applicant will develop positive relationships between home and school. You will be required to assist in assessing family needs, interests and aspirations and advocate for them in policies and programs. As the successful School Based Community Liaison Officer you will assists in the development of mechanisms to inform families and communities about family involvement opportunities.
This role will require you to foster community involvement in school strategic planning. The successful applicant will work with families to facilitate engagement and improved relationships with the school through providing encouragement and support and the identification and implementation of appropriate local level strategies.
Wilson Primary School has a strong ethos of being a warm, caring and friendly community where every child is treated as a valued individual. We cater for children in Kindergarten to Year 6. Our specialised team of early childhood teachers and education assistants provide innovative and engaging classes for the children's first introduction to education. We have a strong focus on numeracy and literacy, with specialist help for students who have English as an additional language.
Our positive and challenging teaching programs allow all students to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to become confident independent learners. We are proud of our reputation in offering a diverse range of subjects including Music, Indonesian, Science, and Physical Education, which are taught by specialist teachers.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

Eligibility and Training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
