Are you a proactive, innovative and motivated teacher?
Morley Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of versatile and innovative Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements up to the end of Term 4, 2020.

The HASS department at Morley SHS achieves exceptional results in WACE and contributes strongly to successful performance in NAPLAN, OLNA. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the professional knowledge, practices and experience to deliver engaging and relevant learning experiences to students. They will need to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and proven success working across a range of ability levels, using a positive, student-focused approach. They will be enthusiastic and flexible, seeking opportunities for innovation and possessing the proven ability to work collaboratively and to developing shared practices. The successful applicant will be dynamic and passionate teachers who is highly reflective about their teaching practice and have a commitment to evidenced based decision-making.
Suitable applicants will also ideally have the expertise to utilise learning technologies to promote an environment of active and positive learning. The willingness to teach in another learning area would also be beneficial.
Applicants will also be able to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents. They will also demonstrate a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks to achieve the best outcome for all students. The school also manages an Intensive Language Centre as part of its response to students with English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) needs and a capacity to use EAL/D strategies would be an advantage.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
