The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries are seeking to establish a pool of Ministerial and Executive Support Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made as vacancies arise over the next twelve months from the initial date of appointment from this pool.

About the role
We are seeking to create a pool of suitably experienced and self-motivated Ministerial and Executive Support Officers to provide administrative support to the Ministerial Liaison and Executive Services team and to members of Corporate Executive.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
- Processing and assigning ministerial requests and all applicable supporting information to the appropriate drafting area.
- Accurately maintaining the ministerial database and filing system.
- Providing quality assurance and recommends improvements to the ministerial process and procedures as necessary.
The successful candidates will have well developed communication and interpersonal skills, a high level of attention to detail and the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with key personnel at all levels of the organisation.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the DLGSC and/or the wider public sector which arise within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Future vacancies may be considered fixed term, part-time and full-time.
The DLGSC Office of the Director General is based at 246 Vincent Street Leederville, however the Ministerial and Executive Support Officers may be required to work from Gordon Stephenson House, 140 William Street, Perth at times.
