Phoenix Primary School (PS) is looking for an experienced, highly motivated and capable early childhood teacher to join their collaborative team for four days a week. This teacher will enjoy working in a multi-cultural school which is an integral part of the local community. The school works in partnership with the parents, ensuring students are encouraged to participate, value their learning and achieve their goals.
Phoenix PS is an Independent Public School which strives to create a positive, happy and rewarding school experience for all children and staff. Our whole school teaching and evidence based learning programs ensures consistency through the years and gives the children opportunities to be taught at their level and point of need in all learning areas.
The successful applicant will have experience in working in a team situation, working with other experienced teachers. They will understand and engage with the National Quality Standards Committee, the Early Years Learning Framework and Focus 2019. They will show evidence of differentiating the curriculum for students with specific learning needs and working with English as an Additional Language/Dialect students. As a teacher with highly developed teaching and learning skills, they will use data to inform their planning and teaching. As an integral member of the early childhood school team, they will work within the evidence based whole school planning model, integrating ICT within their teaching. Their knowledge and experience in Talk4Writing, Letters and Sounds, Words Grammar Fun and Cracking the Code will be evidenced in their application.
Sound behaviour management strategies with a strong emphasis on positive social-emotional well-being within the parameters of the School Behaviour Policy are an essential component of this teaching role. Knowledge of the PATHS programme would also be an advantage. As a teacher at Phoenix, you will be working in a school with high expectations of staff and students, focussed on an improvement agenda and giving the students the skills they will need for their future. The Business Plan 2018-2020 indicates the improvement agenda of the whole school.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
