Bunbury Senior High School is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Technologies teacher (Design & Technologies).
The successful applicant will be a passionate and highly motivated educator with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of students within the Technologies learning area. In addition to the capacity to deliver programs in Design and Technologies (Materials and Engineering), experience in teaching Digital Technologies and to support ICT capabilities will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will be able to effectively contribute to a collaborative work environment and demonstrate the ability to differentiate classroom practices to cater for diverse student needs, including those of students within the Gifted and Talented selective academic program. They will be highly proficient in motivating and maximising the engagement of students, promoting an environment of active and positive learning that enables all students to achieve their highest potential.
At Bunbury SHS there is an expectation that all teachers will engage in reflective practice, informed by classroom observations, student feedback surveys and close examination of student performance data while participating in productive, professional learning communities. There is also an expectation that teachers will use a consistent, whole-school approach to both lesson design and pedagogical practice.
Bunbury SHS is an Independent Public School and this flexibility in the way business is done enables full support of the range of special programs that are on offer in the school. These include the Bunbury Elite Sports Training (BEST) Program and the Visual Art Specialist Program (VASP).
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.
