Are you a passionate and talented secondary teacher seeking a unique opportunity to be a foundation staff member?
Shenton College is seeking to establish a pool of Mathematics Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2019 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2020. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2019 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2020.
Shenton College is seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic Mathematics teacher, with excellent interpersonal skills. The successful applicant will be committed to promoting and fostering student engagement and academic achievement in a supportive environment where success is celebrated.
The suitable applicants will be an expert, passionate teacher of Mathematics, with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. The successful applicant will also demonstrate the professional knowledge, understanding and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary Mathematics curriculum, from the early and middle adolescent phases of learning through to senior secondary courses. They will be enthusiastic adopters of a college wide instructional framework based on explicit teaching and instructional skills, strategies and tactics. The successful applicant will be committed to personal and professional growth and will embrace opportunities for collaboration within the college community and neighbouring schools.
Suitable applicants will demonstrate the ability to develop innovative classroom practices and utilise IT to provide integrated, personalised and authentic learning experiences for students. A key attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are fun, purposeful, relevant and cater for differing student learning needs. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
