This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 4, 2019.
Warnbro Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join their team.
The successful applicant will have outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff, parents and the school community. In particular, we are looking for applicants with a strengths-based approach to teaching that creates positive engagement and a strong sense of belonging in students. Applicants should describe their ability to supportively challenge students to achieve their best, reflect on their practice, share work practices and planning with colleagues while learning from and with them.
Excellent behaviour management and instructional skills for children’s social and emotional development and a good understanding of positive educational approaches supporting students with trauma brain injury is highly desirable.
The appointed Physical Education teacher will be expected to provide high impact physical education teaching to students from Pre-primary to Year 6 three days a week and also effectively teach across a range of learning areas in a Year 3 class 2 days each week. Furthermore, the successful applicant will be required to co-ordinate school sports carnivals and other physical activities as may be required from time to time.
Warnbro PS is located near the beach, 7 km south of Rockingham, and is close to rail and freeway links to Perth and Mandurah. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
