Darkan Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a vibrant and enthusiastic individual to join their friendly and dedicated team as Teacher - Junior - Years 1-2.
The suitable applicant will be passionate and motivated, have a reflective mindset and be committed to working collaboratively with colleagues to improve the learning outcomes of students within our school. Teachers at Darkan PS discuss and share their learning programs with other staff, including the Principal and may be required to teach in additional learning areas.
You will demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of the WA Curriculum Outline and how this relates to current curriculum delivery for a classroom. You will work towards the development of a welcoming and engaging classroom environment which provides a balanced curriculum with explicit, modelled and shared instruction.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
