Safety Bay Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool of Teachers - Mathematics for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2019 and up until the end of term 3, 2020. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the above period.
Suitable applicants will have high expectations, demonstrate a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive classroom learning environment. They will be flexible and adaptive teachers, able to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction, explicit instruction and other evidence based instructional models. An ability to teach Mathematics across all year levels from Years 7 – 12 is desirable. Applicants with experience teaching Mathematics Methods and Mathematics Applications, will be highly regarded.
Applicants will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, vision and priorities across the school community. You will build positive relationships with your students and be passionate about creating positive futures for students, ensuring we share our stories, the Safety Bay Way.
With an interest in working with adolescents, the successful applicant will have a positive attitude and willingness to work with like-minded people. You would foster an interest in lifelong learning in your students, whilst participating in ongoing professional learning opportunities provided by the school, and continually reflect on your own practices to enhance performance. Situated on the coast 50 kilometres south of Perth, Safety Bay SHS is an Independent Public Secondary School catering for approximately 1130 students in Years 7 to 12. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
