Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/TCH593632
Do you wish to be part of a dynamic team of educators?
Malvern Springs Primary School (PS) is an Independent Public School (IPS) which is seeking to establish a pool of teachers from Kindergarten to Year 6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Placements can be made from the pool at any time from the commencement of the 2020 school year.
The school holds the principles of high expectations, effective teaching, student and staff wellbeing, parental and community involvement and whole school approaches.
Malvern PS uses an explicit instruction approach and applicants who have a background in this area are more likely to be considered suitable. Successful applicants will have high expectations and competency, where they are agile and willing to accept and act on feedback. The school values continual growth of teachers through classroom observation, action learning, feedback and on-going professional learning. Applicants will also need to demonstrate how they manage students with disabilities and challenging behaviours in ways that preserve the integrity of the child.
Successful applicants will work hard, show resilience, have a high level of interpersonal and reflective skills, where they collaborate in year level teams. Applicants need to be prepared to contribute to, reflect on and review whole school approaches. Teachers also need to be data literate and respond to data in ways that support student learning.
Suitable applicants will be exceptional, highly motivated and generous with their time, committing to working extra hours with the community to support student development. Developing positive working relationships with parents and the community is considered essential at Malvern Springs PS. In this school, which was opened in 2012, parents value education and have high aspirations for their children.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.
Applications will be assessed against these domains. The business needs of the school may also be considered. It is therefore recommended that you consider all information contained in the advertisement and any other related information before applying for the vacancy.
Applicants currently completing the Department of Education Leap program (formerly known as the Switch program) can apply for vacancies using their current or Leap qualification – even if they have not completed the program at the time of applying. Applicants may be appointed to a vacancy based on the qualification being completed via the Leap program.
The Department is an equal opportunity employer and encourages people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and persons from culturally diverse backgrounds to apply.
