Comet Bay College is seeking to appoint suitably qualified passionate and committed Music Teacher to a permanent position starting during term 3, 2019. The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to work across Years 7 – 12 and bring their expertise to the Learning Area, applying their knowledge of the Music Courses and experience in teaching Senior School Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). The ability or the willingness to upskill to teach a Certificate 2 Creative Industries – Music would be highly desirable. The applicant will have the ability to work effectively as part of a Specialist Teacher team and effectively manage liaison with SIM and organisational aspects of the Instrumental lessons and Band rehearsals. The teacher also needs to demonstrate commitment to organising and co-ordinating special performance events.
To be suitable for this role, you will be student and relationship focused, highly motivated, innovative and able to work effectively in a team environment, as well as demonstrating an engaging and energetic teaching style. You will need to cater for the needs of individual students, differentiating the Music curriculum for Extension as well as variety of skills levels within general classes. You will reflect and assess the effectiveness of your teaching practice using a variety of methods available within the College, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve to their highest potential. With effective interpersonal skills, you will work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
