Environmental Officer
(Multiple Positions)

If you said ‘yes’, then you may be one of the dedicated Environmental Officers we are looking for to form part of our team.
Currently, there are positions available for immediate filling for six (6) months, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
The Resource and Environmental Compliance Division is responsible for the management of compliance and enforcement activities across the resource sector, including the provision of environmental approvals and compliance.
The position
In this role, you will undertake environmental assessments of detailed and/or complex native vegetation clearing applications, and other mining or petroleum proposals as required under limited supervision. You will also provide specialist/technical advice to the departments Executive, minerals and energy sector, general public and industry organisations in relation to environmental legislation and policies, particularly relating to native vegetation clearing.
Drawing on your knowledge and experience in environmental management, you will be responsible for inspections/audits of mining/petroleum operations for compliance with clearing permits and other legislative requirements. Your effective communication skills and ability to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders through various methods will be vital to your success.
This position is located in East Perth, however may be required to work at other sites as required.
What do you require to successfully undertake the role?
- A Bachelor of Environmental Science or Natural Resource Management Degree or an approved equivalent degree.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in environmental management including the assessment of environmental aspects and risks associated with clearing native vegetation.
- Experience in preparing reports on environmental assessments, investigations and/or analytical research.
