The Role
We are currently seeking to appoint a pool of suitably qualified Safety & Quality Managers which will be open for 12 months. There is currently one fixed term 36 month opportunity with the possibility of extensions. This position provides strategic direction and leadership in rail safety, occupational health, safety and quality management for the Major Projects Unit. It also ensures ongoing monitoring/review organisation and arrangements are in place to undertake surveillance, auditing of projects, contractors and consultants as appropriate. This position also coordinates the divisional risk program.
To be suitable for this position, you will need to have possession of a recognised safety and/or quality qualification or significant practical experience in the field. Substantial knowledge of the WA Health and Safety legislation requirements including the Rail Safety National Law is also required. In addition there is a requirement to have an understanding of the application of safety and quality management principles in high risk or complex project or industry. An understanding of the operation railway environment, particularly in a 25 kV electrified railway is also essential.
