Warnbro Community High School (CHS) are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Mathematics Teacher to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will have a passion for secondary education, a positive attitude and a willingness to work with like-minded people. You will foster an interest in lifelong learning in students, participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities and continually reflect on your own teaching practice to enhance learning. You will take a trauma informed approach to the work that you do with students and seek to foster positive relationships as the foundation of this work.
In addition to educating and supporting the ongoing development of student capabilities you will be able to work independently to meet the goals of the school business plan. You will have sound knowledge and practice in the Mathematics curriculum, including ATAR. You will be highly motivated, innovative and able to work collaboratively in a team environment designing and preparing relevant curriculum and assessment materials to meet our students at their point of need.
You will be prepared to engage in reflective practice to improve teaching practice with a focus on improving student outcomes at all levels including engaging with CMS approaches and restorative practices as required to maintain a positive classroom environment. As a part of a whole school improvement journey you will be willing to reflect on your teaching and adjust teaching practices to meet the needs of students. A willingness to engage with explicit approaches to instruction would be highly advantageous.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
