Kinross College is seeking a talented and passionate LOTE Teacher to join our vibrant team for appointment commencing Term 3, 2019.
As a teacher at Kinross College you will work as part of a dedicated team and have the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the College community. The successful applicant will be passionate about the French and Italian languages. They will be confident in teaching students across Years 7 to 10 with particular focus on providing relevant and engaging courses linking to the Western Australian Curriculum. They will be able to incorporate technology to best meet the needs of our students based on researched informed pedagogy.
Kinross College is looking for applicants who will form part of a dynamic team. As a LOTE Teacher specialising in both French and Italian, you will have a positive attitude towards embracing the culture of positive student and staff relationships, which underpins the College's restorative approach and ethos.
Kinross College is in the process of implementing the John Fleming Explicit Teaching model as part of our school wide pedagogy, it is not essential that applicants be familiar with the model, however, a strong commitment to up-skilling and ensuring the continued implementation of the model.
The College has completed an extensive facilities upgrade as well as additional teaching and administrative spaces, including a new dedicated Student Services building and an additional Food Technology room, staff room, workshops and other extensive refurbishments. This project will support the future expansion into upper school as well as resulting in outstanding student and staff facilities.
The College opened in 2002 and is located in the City of Joondalup and is one of five schools that form the Coastal Cluster Educational Pathway offered to students in the local area.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
