This is a six (6) month fixed term, full-time position commencing early Term 3, 2019 with possible extension.
Darling Range Sports College (SC), an Independent Public School, is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Design & Technology (D&T) Teacher who can inspire students to engage in curriculum, strive for excellence and is proactive in improving student outcomes.
The successful applicant will possess excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to provide students with the highest quality curriculum delivery and programs within the D&T Learning Area. As an educator, you would have proven skills in behaviour management, contemporary knowledge and a proven record of professional engagement. Previous experience within the Automotive context would be desirable but is not essential.

Darling Range SC is a specialist Sports College - the first and only sports school in Western Australia. The College’s specialist sports programs are high profile programs with a significant public image. A major focus of the College is also the implementation of Explicit Instruction across all learning areas. Experience using Explicit Instruction in the classroom is not a prerequisite for this position, but the successful applicant must demonstrate a willingness to incorporate this into their teaching practice.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.
