Wellstead Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a motivated and hardworking Early Childhood Teacher to join their friendly team.
As a teacher at our school you will be able to work collaboratively with others to help create and maintain an engaging and stimulating learning environment for students to enjoy and will be able to help inspire students to develop a passion for learning. We are seeking a teacher who is creative in their approach and recognises students’ individualities and helps provide an inclusive learning environment.
The successful applicant will have knowledge of The National Quality Standard (NQS), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), Kindergarten Guidelines and implementing play-based practices. The suitable applicant will possess a comprehensive knowledge of the West Australian Curriculum, with explicit teaching skills in Literacy and Numeracy and the ability to use and reflect on data to drive planning in a multi age setting.
We are seeking an applicant who can integrate technology into the learning program, embed whole school assessment strategies and who enjoys working with students one on one and differentiating the curriculum. You will support major school directions, as outlined in our Strategic Plan, and be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives.
Wellstead is community situated 100 kilometres east of Albany and within the Albany city boundary. Wellstead is a friendly and vibrant place to live in and to visit. The townsite consists of a store/post office/petrol outlet, community library, land care office, mechanical workshop and residential houses. There is a community hall, tennis courts, and a large community oval which is used for cricket. It is approximately 18 kms to Cape Riche and fishing, swimming and beach studies form a natural part of its school's curriculum.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
