Position Profile: We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and enthusiastic person to the position of Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) - Mental Health. In this role in partnership with the Program Manager (PM), you will be responsible for the delivery of quality patient care within their speciality. The CNS supports the PM by supervising the delivery of quality patient care, through developing standards of practice, implementing changes to clinical practice, education of staff and initiating research and quality improvement activities. The CNS is responsible for the provision of clinical and professional expertise in emergency crisis and short term mental health interventions to maintain people in the community environment.
The CNS works collaboratively to improve the quality of patient care and promote desired outcomes in the patient population requiring mental health management and care.
The CNS is responsible for the provision of a consultation service within their area of expertise within the Armadale Health Service.
As a senior nurse the CNS has professional accountability to the Director of Nursing and Midwifery and provides mentorship and role modelling for nurses and contributes to the advancement of the profession, in keeping with the vision and values for Armadale Health Service Nursing.
Area Profile: Armadale Health Service (AHS) is a general hospital focused on providing a range of high quality health care services in the community. The hospital, which is part of the Armadale Kalamunda Group, is equipped with an Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit and provides high-quality general medical and surgery services, rehabilitation, maternity, paediatric and neonatal, mental health, renal medicine and dialysis services and ambulatory care.
Kalamunda District Community Hospital (KDCH) is a specialist hospital and is part of the Armadale Kalamunda Group. The hospital provides both day surgical procedures and a specialist inpatient palliative care service for patients in the east metropolitan area.
