We are seeking to establish a pool of innovative, student and relationship focused Primary Teachers Years 1 to 6 for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
Oakwood Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of innovative, student and relationship focused teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise up to the end of Term 3, 2020. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements up to the end of Term 3, 2020. This includes positions for classroom teachers and for teachers who are interested in teaching specialist subjects, such as Health and Physical Education, Music, Visual Arts and/or Digital Technologies.
We are seeking professional, enthusiastic and team orientated teachers to work collaboratively with the leadership team and school community to expand our contemporary and distinctive school with a child focused identity. A focus on explicit teaching, intentional play and differentiated curriculum to meet each student at their point of need is expected for teachers from Years 1 to Year 2. Year 3 to Year 6 teachers will be able to demonstrate the successful implementation of explicit teaching with a strong focus on Literacy and Numeracy, differentiation of the curriculum and the ability to deliver inquiry based learning. Highly suitable applicants will consistently implement whole school approaches in teaching and learning, ensuring students are at the centre of everything we do, as we bring innovation and diverse learning experiences to every child. Demonstrated sound curriculum knowledge and strong pedagogical skills in literacy, numeracy and developing the whole child are highly regarded.
The suitable applicants will have the innovation, capacity and passion to work collaboratively in a team environment, embracing classroom observation, feedback, modelling and coaching.
Oakwood PS opened as an Independent Public School for Kindergarten and Pre Primary students in January 2018. The second stage of the school was built in Meadow Springs and the school caters for the suburbs of Meadow Springs, Madora Bay and San Remo. Students up to Year 6 began attending in 2019. The school is committed to developing a culture of “High Care and Performance” by engaging, consulting and working collaboratively with the school community to provide a dynamic learning environment that is positive, inclusive and underpinned by strong values.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
