Yuna Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and hardworking Junior Primary Teacher to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing excellent education in line with the school’s strategic direction and consistent with the Western Australian curriculum. Suitable applicants will ideally have the capacity and commitment to work collaboratively.
We are seeking an applicant who can integrate technology into the learning program, embed whole school assessment strategies and differentiate the learning program in our multi age classes. You will support major school directions, as outlined in our Strategic Plan, and be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives.
This role will require you to have a high level of knowledge in the areas of instruction and assessment, as well as knowledge of effective teaching of literacy and numeracy. The successful applicant will also ideally have knowledge and understanding of the role information and communication technology (ICT) plays in the enhancement of learning programs.
The successful applicant will possess the knowledge, skills and ability to improve student outcomes through the use of collaborative learning strategies; possess the ability to build rigour and engage all students in the learning process; demonstrate high levels of expectation and have the ability to raise student aspirations.
Assessment strategies used need to be responsive and inclusive. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to regularly review their own practice and take responsibility for their own professional learning and growth.
Yuna Primary School is situated approximately 530km from Perth and 90kms North East of Geraldton in the Mid-West district. Yuna is a very small town consisting of a school, eight houses, a shire hall, a golf course, tennis courts and a community centre. Currently 22 students attend the school from outlying farms. The major source of business to the community is grain cropping and sheep. Little rural diversification exists.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
