Esperance Senior High School (ESHS) is seeking an energetic and dedicated teacher to join our Health and Physical Education (HPE) Department.
A practical understanding of the Year 7 – 10 WA curriculum: Health and Physical Education, as well as the ability to teach both the General Senior School and Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) courses is highly desirable. Suitable applicants will have a proven ability to work as part of a learning team to provide high quality learning experiences for all students. Within this role you will be provided the opportunity to work across Years 7 to 12 applying your knowledge of Health and Physical Education, whilst using best practice teaching and learning principles in the delivery of the curriculum. The successful applicant will be required to go on camps and excursions as this is a critical part of the (HPE) program at ESHS.
Applicants must be relationship focused educators and demonstrate the strong interpersonal skills required to work in a large collaborative and supportive team environment. Suitable applicants will be joining a progressive and enthusiastic team of teachers. The capacity to lead curriculum development and meet the needs of students with a range of abilities is crucial to the role.
As a highly effective educator you will need to possess an excellent understanding of the Western Australian curriculum, assessment and reporting requirements in lower school and the current Senior School courses. This knowledge, combined with pedagogical skills enables the development of programs differentiated for the specific learning needs of all students across the full range of abilities.
Esperance SHS offers a comprehensive secondary education from Years 7 to 12, and provides a range of curriculum subject choices and exciting extracurricular activities. Esperance lies in the South-East of Western Australia, some 730 Kilometres from Perth. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.
