Swan View Senior High School (SHS) are seeking a proactive and inspirational teacher to join our Humanities team. To be successful in this role you will be able to develop high quality learning experiences for students at Swan View SHS, in the learning areas of English and the ability to teach Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) is desirable but not essential. Applicants are encouraged to address the context of the school, including our school priorities in their application.
As a teacher at our school you will have the belief that all students can learn and will be able to deliver the English curriculums to students in an engaging manner to allow each student to reach their full learning potential. We are seeking applicants with excellent classroom management skills who have the desire to build positive, caring relationships with students based on mutual respect. We seek teachers who can differentiate curriculum and provide explicit instruction to meet diverse needs. We value teachers who can integrate technology into classroom practice and who use a range of assessment and reporting methods. It is desirable for applicants to have understanding and experience in teaching Australian Curriculum and Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) courses. Demonstrated success in teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) and students at academic risk will be highly regarded

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
