About the role
The position is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial data, process and systems. This includes meeting the TAFE’s financial reporting obligations, managing the operating budget, ensuring the internal accounting controls and procedures are adhered to with accuracy and reliability, as well as ensuring the ongoing compliance with accounting standards and policies. The successful applicant will develop and maintain appropriate financial models and prepare monthly financial reports for branch managers analysing actual performance compared to budget and investigating variances. The role also involves collating information for the preparation of the annual FBT return.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate relevant knowledge, experience and skills against all essential selection criteria stated in the JDF as well as demonstrate possession or substantive progress towards a relevant tertiary qualification in accounting allowing eligibility of membership to a recognised professional accounting body. The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate experience and skills in relation to management of a finance team including staff supervision and mentoring.
It is desired that the successful candidate is knowledgeable of relevant sections of the Financial Management Act 2006 and the Treasurer’s Instructions.
